We will be running three beginners courses in June, July & August 2024.

The primary objective of the course is to introduce participants to archery and bring novices up to a safe standard of shooting. Upon successfully completing the course, attendees will receive a certificate of completion, recognized as an entry level for UK Archery GB clubs. The courses are conducted by our experienced coaches.

Each course consists of three sessions held on two consecutive Sundays and one Wednesday evening, taking place outside in the grounds of Hove Park School. However, we are dependent on reasonable weather conditions, and therefore, the course dates may be subject to change from time to time if rain or strong winds are forecast.

Beginner Courses Dates:

 

Course 1

Sunday – 26th May - 11.00 to 16.00

Wednesday – 29th May - 18.30 to 20.30 

Sunday – 2nd June - 11.00 to 16.00

Course 2

Sunday – 30th June - 11.00 to 16.00

Wednesday – 3rd July - 18.30 to 20.30 

Sunday – 7th July - 11.00 to 16.00

Course 3

Sunday – 4th August - 11.00 to 16.00

Wednesday – 7th August - 18.30 to 20.30 

Sunday – 11th August - 11.00 to 16.00

All equipment necessary for the course is provided by the club and the course fee is £75 which is payable in advance (you can pay on the start date of the course) however we do require an initial deposit of £35 in order to secure your place.

Please note that the club can only accept children over 14 years old. This is primarily because we have found that younger children are unable to achieve the distances required to shoot on the course with low poundage bows. However, there are other Sussex-based clubs that cater to young children. For further information, please visit the Sussex Archery website.

After successfully completing a course, those who wish to join the club will be given the opportunity to loan club equipment for a short period until they acquire their own gear. However, please note that our beginners' courses take priority for the use of club equipment, so we are unable to guarantee its availability while courses are in progress.
